Blog 9: Changes to my study programme

Hi everyone!

Today it is very hot. I don't like coming to university when the weather is like this. But in a few weeks the holidays will come haha.

In this post I'm going to write about some changes that could be made in my study programme.

Unfortunately the curriculum is old. It doesn't fit the current times that journalism lives. The subjects are varied but do not contribute in the formation of future journalists. They recently changed it, but our generation didn't have to experience the changes. I think the new one is much more specialized. I would have liked to have economics subjects, laws and more English classes. I would also like to learn more languages like French or German. When I was a child, I learned a little German but over the years I forgot.

The lenght of studies in Journalism is too long We have many subjects that don't contribute in anything. With three or four years it would be fine. I think the university wants to keep taking money from us. The workload it's acceptable. It is lower than in other careers like Law or Medicine. It's difficult to fail a class. You have to be very lazy for that to happen.

The buildings and infraestructure are not the best in the world but not the worst. Although the difference between ICEI and other faculties like FEN is evident too. Journalism authorities should invest in more technology for students. Current journalism uses a lot of technology.

Teaching methods are good. The quality of teachers is like everywhere. There are some very good but others that leave much to be desired.

Well, it's all for today. See you next week friends!
