Blog 3: The Wind That Shakes The Barley Review
Hi everyone! Today I'm goint to talk about the movie "The Wind That Shakes The Barley" directed by Ken Loach, that is based about two brothers, who join the Irish Republican Army (IRA) to fight for Irish Independence from the United Kingdom.
I think this film is interesting, but very sad and tragic too. Thanks to the film I knew the reality that lived in Ireland. I would like to know a country where there have been no wars. I noticed that the Irish were very Catholic. When they killed someone they crossed themselves.
I didn't like the British army. I hate imperialism. The only good thing the English have is football, Manchester United and The Beatles.
My
favorites character are Sinear and Damien O´Donovan. They represented a real revolution spirit and fight for they ideal country. I never imagined that one brother would end up killing the other. It was the saddest moment of the movie.
My favorite scene whas when Tommy's firing squad killed Demian. I like movies that don't have happy endings, like this film.
See you next week!
